Description:

Come and enjoy the tranquil breezes and glorious foliage surrounding Ras Region Cottage.  This rustic, West Indian, mountainside home nestled in the serene village of Hermitage is where you can relax and enjoy the authentic surroundings of this Rastafarian dwelling.  Located at the base of Nevis Peak, Ras Region Cottage is blessed by an abundance of local flora and fauna, with wild green monkeys as well as sour orange and avocado trees which bare fruit annually.  The grounds feature a functioning farm that produces local vegetables and legumes twice a year. 

Cool trade winds flow through the shutter windows which open to expose each room to the beautiful countryside.  Carefully built by the owner in the late 90’s, this austere wooden abode features 1 bedroom, a living/sitting room (which doubles as a second single bedroom), eat in kitchen with breakfast nook and a large, mosaic tile floor bathroom situated at the end of the hall separating the bedroom and living room.  The high ceiling of the master bedroom features a well-appointed queen sized bed while the living/sitting room provides the home’s television, DVD/CD player and day bed.  The kitchen and bathroom cabinetry were handmade by the owner and the eat-in kitchen features an authentic mahogany kitchen table made by a local artisan, adding to the rustic organic feel of the home.  There is a small quaint veranda just off the breakfast nook perfect for enjoying the air or having a local drink, perhaps even one made from the sour oranges right off the tree. 

The property is located 2 minute from the spectacular Hermitage Plantation Inn, where horseback riding, local entertainment and authentic Caribbean cuisine can be found. In Addition, there are three equally splendid plantation hotels to provide culinary delight and entertainment, all within 5 minutes of the home.  The cottage is approximately 15 minutes from the white sand beaches of the isle and a mere 10 minutes from downtown Charlestown by automobile.
